Biography
Andy has built a career in Industrial Automation over the last 25 years, working in various capacities from design to maintenance, to marketing, across all sectors of the manufacturing industry. The last 20 years have been spent working for large automation manufacturers such as Schneider Electric and Parker Hannifin, across numerous technology platforms. Andy is currently the Product Marketing Manager for Festo, covering Factory Automation and has a particular responsibility for Industry 4.0 and helping manufacturing industries understand how they can gain from the adoption of new and emerging technologies.
With a broad background covering electrical control engineering, electromechanical motion, pneumatics, and hydraulics, he is well placed to bring an understanding of not only how Automation Technologies can help address the challenges faced by industry today, but also how it can provide a competitive edge for the future.
As one of the five founding companies involved in Germany’s Industry 4.0 project, Festo has been involved in the “digitalisation of manufacturing” journey from the start. Known for its innovation, Festo has pioneered new technologies and services such as the Festo Motion Control Terminal – the world’s first programmable digital pneumatics platform, and the CPX-IOT – Internet-connected IIOT gateway and self-determining dashboards.
So, what does Industry 4.0 mean for machine builders and end-users? What are the benefits of embedding this technology in machines today and where are we heading in the future? Find out 16th May – 11:30 am.
