We currently have two positions avalable at SP Automation & Robotics. The first is for an Automation Sales Engineer and the other is for a Mechanical Design Engineer. The details for each position are below.

 

AUTOMATION SALES ENGINEER

England & Wales

Requirements

SP Automation & Robotics require a sales engineer to work closely with clients to fulfil their automation requirements. Reporting directly to our sales and applications Manager, the successful candidate will have complete control and responsibility of their area with the full support for technical, sales and marketing activities from our offices. The successful candidate will be home-based and be able to set up their own appointments in a structured manner to maximise their efficiency and management of their area.

 

Background

  • Minimum HNC qualified in a relevant electrical or mechanical engineering discipline.
  • History of strong sales and business development
  • Ideally, already selling capital equipment or associated products into the industry.
  • 2-3 years of project management and engineering experience.
  • Can demonstrate a sound knowledge of engineering fundamentals.
  • AutoCAD competent design experience.
  • UK Driving Licence.
  • Willingness to manage southern sales territory (England & Wales).
  • Strong IT knowledge, proficient in Microsoft Office packages.
  • Team-player and ability to work on own initiative.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Understands commercial aspects of capital projects.
  • Confident in dealing with multiple customers from different industries.
  • Strong organisational skills, time management and presentation skills with a professional business approach.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to grow and establish key relationships.

PROJECT DESIGN ENGINEER

Automation Systems

The company prides itself on building open and honest relationships with its clients to ensure long term commitment.

 

Requirements

The ideal candidate should have experience in the design of Automation Equipment or similar type machinery utilising pneumatic, servo actuated of hydraulically operated equipment.

Although working within the mechanical design team the candidate would ideally but not essential, be required to possess a working knowledge of both Control and PLC Software aspects of logic controlled systems as they form part of our solutions and our multi-discipline teams expertise.

 

Requirements

  • Minimum HNC qualified in mechanical/design engineering discipline.
  • Ability to take concepts and turn them into reality
  • Understanding of mechanisms and general automation concepts
  • Proficient with Autodesk Inventor 2018 (or later) and Solid Works would be ideal
  • Knowledge of pneumatic components, circuits and their design
  • Basic Project Management tools – keeping to schedules
  • Risk Assessment procedures.( preferable)
  • Familiarity of the Machinery Directive and other machine related standards (including the latest EN ISO 13849-1 Safety Related Parts of the Control Systems).
  • Technical writing abilities when compiling Machine Manual Documentation.
  • Ability to follow Project Plans and work to project milestones.
  • Competent on the use of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel and Access.

 

Personal Attributes:

  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Driving Licence.
  • Willing to travel (albeit infrequently) for Client or Supplier meetings
