Operational Excellence Breakfast Workshop
May 2024
Michelin Scotland Innovation Parc – 20th June 2024 – 09:00 – 12:30
We are happy to be taking part in the Operational Excellence Breakfast Workshop at MSIP on June 20, 2024.
The event starts at 9am with a networking breakfast and refreshments, which finishes at 12:30pm. There will be ample opportunity to network with like-minded people and explore ways that SMAS, MSIP, Dundee and Angus College via The Skills Academy and SP Automation and Robotics can support your business.
The event is open to all manufacturers, large, small and sector-wide, who wish to improve business efficiency. Particularly those who have responsibility for championing or driving business improvement within the workplace and/or those involved in the implementation of new processes, technologies and new ways of working.
On the day, there will be an option to book a free follow-up session for any attendees who wish to explore further support.
There will also be an optional tour of MSIP post event for anyone interested in finding out about the latest developments on site.
About the Event
At this highly interactive event, the Scottish Manufacturing Advisory Service (SMAS) will simulate how businesses are run, highlight some of the typical daily challenges that we experience and demonstrate an alternative way of looking at your business via simple ‘lean thinking’ principles. This approach is designed to help you gain a better understanding of what might be required to get you started on or maintain your operational excellence journey.
There will also be a live practical demonstration from SP Automation and Robotics. The demonstration will showcase some of the company’s products in automation, Industry 4.0 technology and collaborative robots that look to improve productivity in manufacturing production.
You will also hear from Michelin Scotland Innovation Parc (MSIP) and The Skills Academy, delivered by Dundee and Angus College. You’ll learn how, by providing access to creative spaces, skills training, business advice, and support, the MSIP site has become an innovation ecosystem for manufacturers across the region and a prime location to grow your business sustainably.
Why Attend?
This workshop is for progressive people who wish to understand the basics of improvement through team-building exercises and practical application. Through the manufacturing simulation provided, you’ll gain an understanding of lean wastes and learn the importance of performance management. This activity workshop provides the opportunity to step back from current operations, review the essential implementation elements of improvement and assess the way forward for your organisation.
The breakfast is also designed to help raise awareness of the collective support available to local businesses in the region and to bring an automation-roadshow-style event to your doorstep, on site at MSIP. This approach will give you first-hand experience of the latest technology available to your business and increase your understanding of the opportunities Industry 4.0 investment presents – with SP Automation and Robotics showcasing their robotic and automation products and services on the day.
