2021 – Multiple machines shipped to the US to various different industries
October 2021 – Winner of the Most Innovative Business at the Courier Business Awards
September 2021 – SP Elements receives Award from OnRobot
February 2020 – SP Technology changes name to SP Automation & Robotics and carries out a company rebrand
February 2020 – SP Elements is launched dealing with Universal Robots cobots and OnRobot end of arm tooling
May 2019 – Company receives the Scottish Engineering President Award for Excellence
April 2019 – Company celebrates 35 years of Automated Solutions
2018 – Directors of the company are shortlisted as Entrepreneurs of the Year.
2018 – SP Technology and Beckhoff become official partners
2018 – SP Technology win Manufacturer of the Year and shortlisted for Innovators of the Year, Engineering company of the Year and Inventor of the year.
2018 – Obtains ISO 9001:2015 early in 2018
September – MBO of SP Technology takes place with Roy Henderson and Lee Nixon taking complete control of the company.
July – Integrates first collaborative robot
May – Become ABB Machine tending Partners
2015 – Open sales office in Derby
2014 – Roy Henderson appointed as Managing Director
Lee Nixon appointed to Board of Directors
Dawn Keillor appointed as company Secretary Co-founding Directors
Rod Chisholm and Allan Morrison enter into semi-retirement from the company

2009 – Celebrates 25 years of success
2008 – The company obtained ISO 9001:2008
2003 – The company obtained ISO 9001:2000
2006 – Company’s first apprentice appointed to the Board
2000 – moves into new purpose built factory in Dundee
1998 – incorporates robot technology into assembly systems
1995 – ships first of several systems to Costa Rica
1993 – The company builds the first machines for Taiwan based electronics company
1990 – ships first of several electronic assembly machines to Puerto Rico
1988 – The company expand and move to larger premises in the UK
1987 – First export machines sent to electronics manufacturer in France
1985 – develop and sell first in-house built pad print machine
1984 – established by two co-founding directors in small unit in Dundee
